Adoption Process

At GoldieRags, we are dedicated to ensuring each of our Ragdoll kittens finds a loving and suitable home. Our adoption process is designed to match our kittens with families that best fit their personalities and needs.

1. Join the Waitlist

  • Submit an inquiry through our Contact Form. Provide details about your lifestyle, home environment, and preferences to be considered for our waitlist or our current available kittens.

  • You will hear back from us, and we might email back and forth to ensure you’re a candidate for a GoldieRags kitten. When we have confirmed you are a match, we will send instructions on how to place a $200 waitlist deposit to secure your spot if there aren't any current available kittens. This deposit is applied toward the final purchase price.

  • Please note: As a small, ethical cattery, we have 2–3 litters per year. Wait times can be up to a year.

2. Pregnancy Confirmation

  • We will notify our waitlist + email subscribers once a pregnancy is confirmed. Our waitlist gets exclusive updates and information. Updates about expected colors and timelines will be shared.

3. Kitten Selection (4–6 Weeks Old)

  • At 4–6 weeks, kittens begin to show their unique personalities. We assist families on our waitlist in selecting a kitten that matches their lifestyle and preferences. We place these kittens with their families on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • A FaceTime call is required before reserving a kitten. If both GoldieRags and the family in consideration are happy, we move forward with collecting the reservation deposit.

  • A $750 non-refundable, non-transferable reservation deposit is required at this stage to fully reserve a kitten, which is applied toward the final price.

4. Finalizing the Adoption

  • We provide a written contract and a 1-year genetic health guarantee.

  • The remaining balance is due before or at the time of pickup.

4. Preparing for Your Kitten

  • Kittens stay with us until they are ready to go home, typically around 12-14 weeks of age.

  • During this time, they receive:

    • Spay/neuter surgery (no exceptions)

    • Proper Socialization Training

    • Microchipping

    • Age-appropriate vaccinations

    • Deworming and parasite prevention

    • Veterinary examinations

    • Health records

    • TICA/CFA registration paperwork

    • A "Welcome Home" goodie bag

6. Pickup or Transportation

  • We are located in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Families can:

    • Pick up their kitten in person.

    • Fly into Phoenix to collect their kitten; all travel must be organized by the client.
